Hamiltonian Artists is excited to announce that curator A.M. Weaver has selected Hamiltonian Fellow Larry Cook to be part of this year’s 5×5 Public Art Initiative – aProject of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.

Transforming the District with Public Art A.M. Weaver’s proposed project for “Five by Five”, Ceremonies of Dark Men, will feature large-scale photographs by five male artists placed in key areas around the city. Their works will, in part, address issues of black manhood in creative ways.

About 5×5 – A Project of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities is an ambitious District-wide program of contemporary, temporary public art dedicated to exploring new perspectives on our city through the lens of five curators. In fact, it is the largest, temporary public art project in the District. The project will begin in early September and end by December of 2014.
