professional development speaker series

Hamiltonian Artists offers a Professional Development Speaker Series that focuses on helping artists advance their careers outside of their studio walls. During these interactive lectures and workshops established artists and art professionals offer candid insight into the art market and practical strategies for financial literacy, career development, business etiquette and entrepreneurship. The series is free and open to the public.

studio visits

In response to the changing nature of artists' studio spaces in the District, Hamiltonian Artists has launched the Understanding the Artist: Studio Visit Series to expose the public to various types of studio spaces and art practices throughout the city. Small groups of visitors are invited into homes, warehouses and studios to interact with the artists and discover the diverse types of spaces where art-making occurs in DC.

artist talks

In addition to mounting exhibitions at Hamiltonian Gallery, fellows give an artist talk during the course of their show. These artist talks are free and open to the public and allow for interaction with the community. The audience is encouraged to engage with the artist and their work as well as learn more about the art practices and inspirations of emerging artists who are part of the Hamiltonian Fellowship program.
