Hamiltonian Artists at The Creative Time Summit

Hamiltonian Artists at The Creative Time Summit

What is the State of Gender Equality in the Arts?

On Sunday, October 16 Hamiltonian Artists, in partnership with ArtTable DC, will be hosting a breakout session on the state of gender equality in the arts at the Creative Time Summit. The open discussion will take place during both afternoon sessions (2pm and 3:30pm) at the Corcoran College of the Arts + Design, 500 17th St NW, Washington, DC 20006.

Geared toward arts administrators and artists alike the discussion will focus on how women working in the arts experience, confront, and resolve gender issues in their fields. Whether issues manifest through policy challenges, generational roadblocks or direct discriminatory behavior, we will share experiences and discuss how various types of environments and models affect women's artistic career paths. The outcome of the session will serve to develop discussion questions for ArtTable DC's third State of Art DC event on Monday, October 24 at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
