Vesela Sretenović
Vesela Sretenović is a scholar and curator of modern and contemporary art with a focus on cross-disciplinary practices. She served as Director of Contemporary Art Initiatives and Academic Affairs at The Phillips Collection (2009–2023), where she led the Intersections series and organized exhibitions of artists such as Robert Ryman, Ellsworth Kelly, and Antony Gormley. She previously held positions at Brown University, SUNY Buffalo, and the Brooklyn Museum. She is the founder of Nonalignedart LLC, a platform for curatorial projects and dialogue on contemporary art, and has curated recent exhibitions at Georgetown University, American University, NYU, and The Kreeger Museum. Sretenović has also taught and lectured widely. She holds degrees from the University of Belgrade, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Syracuse University.
